Workshop Goal

This workshop is meant to serve as an introduction to the open-sourced application QGIS. It’s a simple workshop, meant to introduce basic mapping concepts and workflows. You’ll also learn about NU’s GIS resources, services, and where you can find support for your projects.



Learning Outcomes

  • Understand what GIS is

  • Identify different types of GIS data and formats

  • Knowledge of basic analysis functions

  • Understand basic mapping functions and tools

  • Ability to make and export a map using QGIS
